You can resize the photo to the desired size through Photo Gallery app. Follow the below steps to resize the photos.

This does not help. When I blazon in Photo Gallery...it takes me to my photo gallery. Naught comes upward asking about installing anything. I am trying to print a photo after resizing it and at that place is no way t resize. I went into paint and reduced from 100% to 25% to trying to make a smaller film and all it did was arrive blurry.

I have ABSOLUTELY no affiliation to Microsoft (nor do I want to be one of their advisors) ..

I am just a user of their old XP systems, who discovered a lot more near "how" to use paint, that most people volition ever know..

Simply opening a picture in pigment and "immediately" shrinking it down to 25 %(which past the way -- is an amazingly SMALL size -- fifty-fifty if you had an A1 size to begin with - which I dubiety....
As that but doesn't work.
All that does is "miniaturize" the overall expect .. to create a fuzzy avatar issue.

What you need to do .. is open information technology in pigment.. and "save as" a modified name --
ie: film to resize (in full tone - 256 color bitmap)

Then -- select all and open the "resize option" .. and Examination shrinking .. the saved-as version .. to see to what extent you Can resize down into?
Then save THAT as a slightly different file name -- such as shrink one.png ?

Then print it off .. to see if it LOOKS as proficient =equally it should.. because the "shrunken preview" you become in Pigment.. isn't always the bodily PRINTED AS "effect"..

I myself would NEVER consider shrinking below 50% as that's equivalent to ane/4 the size of the original - at which tiny size .. yep you Will start to go a fuzzy shrunken grape look...

Try and test.. and re-exam, then test some more..
Never merely do and wonder why it looks wrong.!!!

Not helpful. I get the aforementioned problems as the other user. When I type in Photo Gallery, I just get my photos sans whatsoever property editing tab. I practice not get any prompt on downloading a desktop app. Please assist!!

Try something else then...

Surely in your "printer preferences" (the settings of your printer "functionality" itself) there will be a settings option for "re-sizing" Whatsoever document (notepad, written document, scanned matter, &/or picture etc.,) BEFORE printing anything.

All one needs to do .. is "starting time" the impress function, and then select PRINTER PREFERENCES

Opening that - should reveal a whole heap of quirky things to do:

Such as...
BORDERLESS (full size 1 motion-picture show no border)
Landscape (sideways on - horizontal)
Foolscap (normal vertical page expect)B&W, or various "colour rendering" options.

Yous "should" even have the Pick, of "printing multiple pictures, One Ane PAGE ..

Which by the style -- is the absolute easiest (quick) way to resize annihilation, by pprinting 2 pictures on the one A4 paper, you automatically become TYWO "half size pictures, but cut the paper in half & toss the other picture in the rubbish bin..
Bingo ..
A HALF SIZE Film..

Or.. endeavor other "multiple picture options on a single A4 printout.

That'due south peradventure the easiest, worry costless way -- to downsize Any picture ..

IF YOU Brand THE MARGINS LARGE (the resultant "printed film" IS FORCED to only "fit" between the margins, thus rendering the "printed output..
AS SMALL Every bit Yous WANT IT TO BE..
Works for me -- when I have to "select impress" (with no printer options) and Simply go the "set to impress' page, every bit the MARGINS OPTIONS, is all the same available

Are yous ONLY attempting to "resize" the photo's & pictures, for "saving them every bit smaller file sizes" (without losing besides much quality), or are you trying to "resize" for printing purposes (to become a smaller actual printer size output), or are you lot trying to resize for some other reason.?

I am "just an former XP paint user, who is also being "forced" to endeavor to work with (what now appear to exist very) useless win 8.1/ win 10 "programs" .. who is "remembering' diverse self-discovered "options & tricks" that I used, back in the days, before I actually FOUND the "in-plan" resizing functions.

I found upon "press" that I could "hands" make small-scale (just as clear) resizings of pictures, past "pre-viewing the printer preferences, for "press-out, not just borderless pictures at "1 per page" - (or heavens forbid .. "NEEDING" Four OR SIX >>> A4 PAGES -- "per single Poster size picture", equally I blindly found one 24-hour interval -- when "playing with the printer's own settings").

So -- maybe forget about trying to "detect" a mode to print-out anything in a pre-shrunk (reduced) size, from the program itself, and merely "brand the printer decide, how many "smaller pictures" it will impress, on a single A4 folio, and so "toss abroad" (by guillotining off) the unused extra prints, saving simply the single SMALL PRINTED PICTURE, obtained fro a single A4 print-out.
If you "select" say ?
Print Ten FRAMES PER A4 PAGE ..
So all 10 pictures (on that single canvass of A4) will exist one 10th of their unmarried A4 print size.

If however, you ONLY want to shrink a file, into a much smaller file "size" for saving purposes..?

Surely there are other salvage-as options, mayhap in a different format, or maybe even just by "opening the file", in a different programme could help, (& aye I use Paint mostly), equally in that location may also be a "photo editing program", that is available (for free) somewhere on the internet, which volition allow you to "resize" ALL of your pictures & photos, completely Exterior of your (plainly useless) MS photo gallery program, that will thus then allow you to resize the picture/photograph before re-placing it dorsum = into the (useless) photo gallery program (every bit it would so be in a smaller "edited" size).

This is a solution for printing, just I am trying to resize to load pictures into spider web programs that have size restrictions, similar 2MB and5MB.
